P. J. Rhodes was Professor of Ancient History and is now Honorary Professor and Emeritus Professor at Durham University. He has edited and translated four volumes of Thucydides' Histories in the Aris & Phillips Classical Texts series, as well as two volumes on the Athenian Constitution. His many other publications include `Periclean Athens’ (Bloomsbury, 2018) and `The Greek City States: A Source Book’ (Cambridge University Press, 2007). He was President of the Classical Association from 2014–15 and was awarded the Chancellor’s Medal, University of Durham, in 2015.
