Augustine H. Kobayashi studied history at Leeds and London, obtaining an M.Phil. in International Studies (focusing on naval relations between the US and Britain in the interwar years) and an M.A. in Late Antique and Byzantine Studies. He has published three books on naval history which have been translated into Greek.
