Huawei Zhu is Principal at Shenzhen Middle School, Shenzhen, China (2016–). He was the leader of the Chinese national team in the International Mathematical Olympiad (2009), and member of the Problem Committee of the Chinese Mathematical Olympiad (2005–2016). He is currently the Director of the International Mathematics Assessment Services (2011–). In 2019, he was awarded the Best Educator of the Year in all of China.
In China, he has published more than 100 books and 100 articles on mathematics competitions; all in Chinese. Several articles have been published in English, in Mathematics Competitions, Mathematical Magazine, Integral, Journal of Korean Mathematics, and Crux Mathematicorum.
